President | Co-CEO

James currently serves as President and Co-CEO of Ozumo Concepts International, LLC (OCI) and is responsible for business development, operations, finance, accounting, people & culture, risk management, tax, legal, investor relations and strategy.  Prior to re-joining OCI in 2017, James advised and consulted with groups including KHP Capital Partners, Geolo Capital, Yotel, Pared and Avenir Culinary Systems.  Between 2012-2015, James served as SVP-Treasurer and SVP-Restaurants & Bars for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and was responsible for all aspects of restaurant, bar and lounge concept development including a pipeline of 22 projects in various stages of development and an operating portfolio of 70 restaurants, bars and lounges across 27 markets representing $250+ million in annual sales and 3,500+ associates. 

James served as COO and CFO of OCI from 2010-2012 and was VP of Asset Management for Kimpton’s owned hotel real estate portfolio (13 properties, 2,700+ rooms, 9 markets, and approximately $1 billion in market value) from 2007-2010 where he helped launch the division.  James also served as Director of Corporate Finance and Development and Area Director of Revenue Management with Kimpton and began his hospitality career with Marriott International, Inc. working in both its Development Finance & Business Consulting group and Corporate Internal Audit department and spent two years in the Strategic Business Services group with AvalonBay Communities, a leading multi-family REIT.  James holds a BS in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Master in Management Hospitality (MMH) from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University
